Residential Retaining
Walls & Slip Clean-Ups

Hard-access specialists for steep, wet, and difficult sites. We design and build engineered retaining walls and deliver slip recovery that keeps your property safe, with fixed-scope pricing and tidy handovers.

Why Slip Clean-Ups Matter (and When to Call)

After heavy rain or a burst of service, unstable ground can keep moving. Fast slip clean-ups protect people and
property. Call urgently if you spot
widening cracks, new ground humps,
leaning fences/trees, water from
springs or blocked culverts, or failing
support under driveways/paths.

Early warning signs can be subtler:
sticking doors, foundation gaps, and
new muddy runoff. Until we arrive, keep
people and vehicles well back from the
edges, and avoid loading the top of the
bank. Quick action makes the
permanent repair faster and more
predictable.

Slip Clean-ups & Slope Stabilisation

This is our end-to-end service for homes affected by slips or unstable slopes. We take your site from unsafe to fully restored. When land moves, speed and sequence matter. We follow a proven workflow that makes your site safe first, restores access quickly, and then delivers a permanent repair that stands up to weather and time.

Make-safe & triage (immediate response)

We secure the area, assess ground movement and water hazards, and set up safe access. That can include cordons, temporary shoring in small zones, tree/vegetation make-safe, and isolating at-risk services (power, water, gas) where needed.

Access establishment & debris removal

We secure the area, assess ground movement and water hazards, and set up safe access. That can include cordons, temporary shoring in small zones, tree/vegetation make-safe, and isolating at-risk services (power, water, gas) where needed.

Water management & drainage(stop the re-slip)

Most slips start or worsen with water. We identify sources, surface runoff, blocked subsoil drains, or groundwater, and put temporary controls in place straight away. Permanent drainage follows:subsoil/french drains, collector lines to legal outfalls, weepholes behind walls, culvertchecks/upgrades, andsurface grading that keeps water off the failure line.

Temporary stabilisation (hold the ground while we design)

While design/consent steps progress, we stabilise the slope so it weathers safely.Typical measures include battered regrades to a safer angle, benching, geotextile wraps and pins,erosion-control blankets, silt fencing, straw wattles, and fast-germinating hydroseed to lock in topsoil. In wet zones, we often add rock armouring (rip-rap) or small gabion toes to protect against scouring.

Permanent repair options (engineered to suit your terrain)

Every site is different, soil type, groundwater, height, loads (driveways/buildings), and boundaries all drive the solution. We scope and price the right system, not the easiest to install.

Finishing, erosion control & planting

Once stable, we tidy the site, reinstate surfaces, and apply long-term erosion control: topsoil andhydroseed, mulch,erosion-control blankets on steeper faces, and native planting to knit the slope together over time. We’ll recommend species suited to your aspect andmoisture, so roots do the stabilising work.

Retaining Wall Options

Every site is different, soil type, groundwater, height, and proximity to boundaries/services all
matter. We’ll recommend the right wall for your terrain, not just the easiest to install.

Timber Retaining Wall

A cost-effective, fast option for many residential
heights and garden terraces, timber works best
for straight or gently curved lines with a tidy
timber finish. Correct drainage and weep holes
are essential, and on higher or load-bearing
walls, the treatment class and post sizing should
be engineer-specified. It’s a great choice for
quick recovery after small slips and for
reshaping batters.

Concrete / Keystone Block Wall

Segmental or concrete block systems handle higher loads and deliver premium finishes, making them ideal for driveways, cut batters near boundaries, and curved layouts. Performance depends on engineered geogrid reinforcement and solid base preparation, and the result is excellent slope stabilisation with a clean, finished look.

Gabion & Rock Walls

Stone-filled baskets or hand-placed rock provide a natural aesthetic and free-draining structure, which makes them well-suited to high-water areas, erosion control near waterways, and rural properties. Key considerations include footprint depth, rock supply, and cage specification; their inherent permeability offers outstanding drainage.

Geogrid & Anchored Walls

For challenging heights or poor ground conditions, we integrate geogrid, ground anchors, or piles to create a fully engineered retaining wall system. These solutions suit steep slopes, known slope-failure zones, and tight boundaries, and while they require geotechnical design and council engagement, they deliver robust long-term stability.

Why homeowners choose
Tough Terrain

  • Hard-access pros: Our spider excavators work on steep slopes, creek beds, and tight backyards where standard machines can’t reach.
  • Built for slips: From make-safe to permanent fix, we stabilise slopes and restore access fast.
  • Fixed-scope options: When we’re the main contractor, we can price the work up-front to avoid surprises.
  • Safety first: Trained two-person crews, proven H&S systems, and low-impact methods.
  • Nationwide capability: From rural slips to city backyards. We go where the work is.
